Tompkins Financial Wins 2020 Corporate Philanthropist of the Year Award

We have been awarded the Corporate Philanthropist of the Year Award by the Finger Lakes Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). This award was bestowed upon us at the National Philanthropy Day virtual celebration on November 13, 2020.

On receiving the Corporate Philanthropist of the Year Award, Greg Hartz, President and CEO of Tompkins Trust Company, shared “Our community is the unique and wonderful place it is because of the work of so many people and organizations who are dedicated to delivering such a wide variety of services to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. We are committed to doing our part and often wish we could do more. We are truly humbled and appreciative of this very generous recognition.”

Tompkins Financial has a long history of practicing corporate social responsibility by supporting nonprofits, charities, and civic organizations throughout the Finger Lakes community through corporate sponsorships and support, as well as the volunteerism of many of our wonderful employees who volunteer at community events or serve on boards at a myriad of organizations throughout the region.

During the reception, Michelle Kortenaar, Executive Director of the Sciencenter, shared “we were inspired to nominate Tompkins Financial because they have always been our partner and have been so immensely helpful to us.” Kortenaar added, “with their expertise and support, they allow us to continue to serve our community and we could not do our work without them.”
